Keep Martin Beautiful ColorFOOL Run Set For April Fool’s Day

Posted on March 14, 2017

PALM CITY — Keep Martin Beautiful — and Colorful — on Saturday, April 1, April Fool’s Day, during the first ColorFOOL Fun Run through the trails of the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center in Palm City.

The 4K run is part of the Keep Martin Beautiful Great American Cleanup activities. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to take to the trails at the Wildlife Center and get doused with biodegradable colors that are safe and easy to clean. Afterward, participants can visit the Wildlife Ambassadors — the wild creatures who make their permanent residence at the center.

“We’re expecting a great day,” said Craig Ahal, Keep Martin Beautiful president. “By bringing together the environmental stewardship of Keep Martin Beautiful with the wildlife stewardship of Treasure Coast Wildlife Center, we are offering participants a run or walk through some of the most naturally beautiful areas of our community.”

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. for check-in, with the run/walk starting at 9 a.m. The trails will remain open until 11 a.m. Registration is $25 for adults, and $15 for ages 12 and younger.

Signup is available from the Facebook event page for the ColorFOOL Fun Run. Early registrants will get a T-shirt commemorating this first ColorFOOL event, perfect for showing off the bright colors that volunteers will be showering on participants.
